Intersil ISL80510/05 LDOs - Best Dropout and Transient Performance for Sensitive Loads
Intersil's new ISL80510 single output low dropout voltage regulator (LDO) is capable of sourcing up to 1A output current and operates from input voltages of 2.2V to 6V. The ISL80505 is capable of sourcing up to 500mA output current and operates from from input voltages of 1.8V to 6V. The output voltage of both devices can be programmed from 0.8V to 5.5V.
ISL80510/05 brings out best transient performance in its class. High performance loads need a stable power supply free from large overshoot and undershoots. The high transient performance of ISL80510/05 allows minimal variation in output with only 4.7uF capacitor. They also provide high PSRR across a wide range of frequencies. Accordingly, it shields the load from noise at different frequencies. And ISL80510/05 has adjustable soft-start to control input inrush current. It can also be used to adjust the start time to accommodate any sequencing requirement from the board designer.
